Salt Marsh Publications' mission is to publish quality books and to assist others in successful publication of all printed matter. 

CONSULTING SERVICES

We provide assistance in publishing books and other printed matter.  These activities include: community talks on writing from genealogy, self-publishing advice, document re-writes, layouts, editing, illustrating, and marketing.

Capabilities

  • Salt Marsh Publications advises new authors on proper manuscript form, editing, query letters, and copyright information before mailing submissions to publishers.
  • We also advise authors on steps to publish their own works--i.e.: manuscript set-up, editing, submission format, illustrations, book covers, print specifications, and printers.
  • We help authors set-up their own companies with information on obtaining EIN numbers, ISBN numbers, state sales licenses, tax forms, and marketing.
  • We also provide manuscript re-writing--ranging from editing to total ghost writing. 

Initial consultation for any of the above services is free.  Contracted work begins at $25.00/hr. or can be priced by the project.

ILLUSTRATION SERVICES

Salt Marsh Publications also provides literary illustrations for children's books, adult novels, and story or poetry collections.   Illustrations include original watercolor and photography. We have illustrated  five of our own children's books, The Little Green Monkey Stories, and our poetry Book, Alone. 

Capabilities

  • Salt Marsh Publications works directly with the author or publisher to determine the appropriate subject matter, medium, colors, and size of illustrations to fit the publication.

  • We also contract for individual watercolor portraits of children or adults from favorite photos--beginning at $40.00 for 9"x12" portraits or $50.00 matted..

  • Initial consultations are free.  Cost estimate includes one completed drawing or painting for each subject.
